2

If, find the value of a 2 +b 2

OR

Subtract from a(b-5) from b(a-5)

3

Which one is greater 82 or 28

4

Name any two figures that have both line symmetry and rotational symmetry  OR

After rotating by 60˚about a centre, a figure looks exactly the same as its original position. At what other angles will this happen for the figure?

5

Draw and state the number of lines of symmetry for a regular hexagon.

Shyamsundar has a field of length 150 m and a breadth of 100 m. He grows rice. His field produces 6kg of rice in 100 square metres. Shyamsundar every day takes 3 rounds of the field to take care of the crops in the morning. Shyamsundar’s grandson Raju wants to fence the field with barbed wire. The cost of fencing per metre is Rs 25. He asks his grandfather to give him money for the fencing. Grandfather promises him to give money after selling the whole rice.

1. What is the total distance covered by Shyamsundar in the morning? a. 500 m b. 450 mc. 300 m d. 1500 m

2. Find the cost of fencing the field?

 a. Rs12000 b. Rs2500 c. Rs7500 d. Rs12500

3. How much rice is grown in the whole field?

a. 8000kg b. 900kg c. 9000kg d. 90000kg

Nature provides many beautiful examples of symmetry, such as the wings of a butterfly and a starfish or the petals of a flower. Symmetric objects have parts that are congruent. A figure has line symmetry if you can draw a line through it so that the two sides are mirror images of each other. The line is called the line of symmetry.

A figure has rotational symmetry if you can rotate the figure around some point so that it coincides with itself. The point is the centre of rotation and the amount of rotation must be less than one full turn or 360°. 7-fold and6-fold  rotational symmetry means that the figures coincide with themselves 7 times and 6 times respectively, within one full turn.

Q.1) The number of lines of symmetry in the figure-1 is:

(a) 4 (b) 8 (c) 6 (d) None

Q.2) The order of rotational symmetry in the figure.

(a) 4 (b) 8 (c) 6 (d) None

Q3)The the angle of rotation in an equilateral triangle is

 a) 45 ˚ (b) 90 ˚ (c)120 ˚ (d) 60˚

My brother purchased the land to make a house. He is fond of gardening. He developed the front area of the house as a flower garden and backyard kitchen garden. The kitchen garden is in the shape of a square and the flower garden is a rectangle. The area of the kitchen garden is half the area of a flower garden. If the area of a kitchen garden is 100m2and the breadth of the flower garden is 20m, Find the perimeter of the kitchen garden and area of the flower garden
